Understanding Chaplaincy
The modern definition of "Chaplain" is quite diverse. However, in the case of Navigation Christian Care, we simply seek to provide spiritual care for those in a time of need. There are many different types of environments chaplains work in. Most environments are secular so chaplains seek to be a presence but not a focus of care. In the secular environment there are a diverse range of spiritual needs. The chaplain is trained to listen to those in need and recognize the level of care those in need wish to receive.
The chaplain is trained to be sensitive to psychological, sociological and traumatic environments where their presence is needed. Not to bring with them an agenda but to be a presence to accept where they are invited in to comfort and care. The chaplain
